CONCEPCION BAY

Concepcion Bay has a spectacular scenic highway that goes from the city of Loreto to Mulege. It offers wonderful views of the desert landscape touching the sea.  Beaches like El Burro, Santispac, Los Cocos, El Requeson and Posada Concepcion have unique characteristics making them an unmissable natural attraction.

Santispac beach is surrounded by mangroves and mountains where you can find cave paintings in a place called “El Tordillo.” Another beach, El Requeson, has a white rocky hill, which, when the tide rises, it becomes an island. El Burro beach is known for being very calm, meanwhile beaches Los Cocos and Posada Concepcion outstand for their wild natural beauty.

Throughout all these beaches, considered by many the most beautiful of all Baja California Sur, it is possible to do several activities, from enjoying a meal by the sea, fishing, camping, to kite surfing or just sightseeing basking on this majestic landscape with views of La Giganta and Guadalupe mountain ranges.

Generally, there are more travelers during winter, who like the migratory birds, make their way down to the coasts of Baja California Sur escaping the cold from the north to find warmer temperatures.   And although in summer temperatures rise up to 35ºC, it is also a good time to visit the lonely beaches enjoying the ideal weather for a swim.
