MAGDALENA BAY

Magdalena Bay is located on the Pacific Ocean coast in the municipality of Comondu, between the cities of La Paz and Loreto.  It is an area of great ecological importance due to the high variety of plant species and wildlife that live here, thus its recognition as one of the most important Biological Activity Centers (BAC) in the Mexican Pacific coast.  
Magdalena Bay is the visitors´ favorite spot for grey whale watching that arrives to this bay to mate and give birth.

The main ports of Magdalena Bay are the fishing ports of San Carlos and Adolfo Lopez Mateos where one can find small hotels and tour operators, which allow visitors to enjoy the different attractions, and activities one can do in this beautiful destination.

Winter is the busiest time for Magdalena Bay, human visitors as well as sea wildlife like the grey whale and the sea turtle, and several species of migratory birds gather in this place, some making it their home for several months. 

There is a high diversity of ecosystems in Magdalena Bay, for example, there are mangroves, coastal sand dunes and islands, where one can do several activities like game fishing, camping, kayaking, amongst others.
