CABO PULMO

The Marine Park of Cabo Pulmo is an example of marine conservation around the world, it´s a perfect place for scuba diving, snorkeling and enjoying nature.

Cabo Pulmo, declared a Protected Natural Area in 1995, a National Park in 2000 and World Natural Heritage by UNESCO since 2005, it is located 63km Northeast from San Jose del Cabo city, taking Ruta 1 towards La Paz.

It is a small coastal community committed with the conservation and protection of their natural environment.  Thanks to the initiatives lead by its local inhabitants, plus the support of other entities represented by the academic, governmental and civil society sectors, Cabo Pulmo has become the area with the highest fish concentration in all the California Gulf.

The tourism services provided in the area go through a strict process to ensure they follow tourism and environmental best practices.  The service suppliers also invite visitors to join the conservation efforts through actions like not using sunscreen, touching the corals, extracting or remove plants or wildlife from the place, tossing trash or any activity that can damage the environment or put it at risk.
