The San Jose del Cabo Añuiti mission, founded in 1730, is the southernmost one built by the Jesuits. The mission was built in a place the Pericu people (an ancient culture known for its agile runners, fishermen, foragers and hunters) used to call “Añuití”, thus the name of the mission. This temple is part of the missions´ tour around Baja California Sur.
