San Juanico, also known as “Scorpion Bay”, is the perfect destination to disconnect from the rest of the world and dedicate oneself completely to go surfing.
San Juanico is a small fishing community located in the Municipality of Comondu on the coast of the Pacific Ocean.
It is the ultimate surf destination either for beginners or the most expert surfers. This place flaunts to have the second largest wave in the world, has unending unspoiled beaches and it is perfect to disconnect from the rest of the world.
There are small lodges and rental houses to stay in (it is necessary to make a reservation in advance) and restaurants that serve delicious food. It is important to mention that in San Juanico electric power is scarce, therefore every night at 11:00 pm, power goes off in the whole community and comes back the next morning.
While staying in San Juanico visitors can do day trips to visit the small communities of La Purísima and San Miguel de Comondú.
