TODOS SANTOS

Todos Santos is located on the Pacific coast, 76 kms north of Los Cabos going on highway 19 (which further ahead merges with Ruta 1.) Todos Santos is a mandatory stop as one of the main destinations on Ruta 1.

Todos Santos is best known for its old colonial mission, artistic vibe, beautiful beaches, and for being home to the controversial “Hotel California” amongst several other attractions.  It is also the ideal place to relax, stroll around the streets downtown, and get to visit the different art galleries, shops, excellent restaurants and bars, and boutique hotels.

Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Todos Santos mission, previously known as Santa Rosa mission, was founded in the XVIII century however it has gone through several transformations and today nothing of the original architectural design is left. The mission is Todos Santos most iconic building.

Todos Santos is also well known for its art galleries where it is possible to find artwork like paintings and sculptures from recognized artists, as well as handicrafts, photography galleries, etc. Todos Santos also hosts world-class festivals, like the Todos Santos Art and Movie festivals and the Gastronomic festival.

Baja California Sur´s gastronomy is incomparable and Todos Santos is the perfect place to enjoy delicious dishes through the diverse choices of restaurants available. 

For the nature lovers, Todos Santos is the perfect place to practice surfing, swim in the ocean, and spend the day at leisure in the beautiful beaches like San Pedrito, Las Palmas, Cerritos or Pescadero.  (include map)

The beaches in Todos Santos are nesting areas for the sea turtle and home of several conservation organizations that work tirelessly protecting these magnificent creatures. For many years it was believed Todos Santos was the place where the music group The Eagles got inspired to compose the famous song “Hotel California.”  As of today it is still a rumor however it is true the song has given Todos Santos great fame around the world.
