The Tres Vírgenes volcano is inside El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve and visitors can do several activities like climbing all the way up to the crater of the volcano.
To arrive to Las Tres Virgenes Volcano, inside El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve, visitors need to take Ruta 1, towards the mining village of Santa Rosalía, and turn off on the road that takes to the Ranchería de las Tres Vírgenes.

From the summit it is possible to look at the immensity of El Vizcaino Biosphere Reserve and spot the Ojo de Liebre and San Ignacio lagoons, as well as the canyons of the San Francisco and Santa Martha Sierras, where visitors can find the famous cave paintings.
At the volcano´s base visitors can find a number of cabins where to stay at and it is from these cabins where several of the activities kick off. Some of these activities are hikes around the volcano to enjoy the landscape and learn about the vegetation and wildlife from the region, practice mountain biking, or climb the volcano.
To watch the longhorns that live in the area and due to protection and conservation measures, it is necessary to hire an authorized guide a the Bonfil community, where it is also possible to book multi-day trips inside the canyons and valleys around the volcano to better spot the longhorns.
